Places to stay in and around San José
There are an enormous amount of options of accommodations in and around San José. For ease of access to the airport and other helpful traveler services we recommend the Hampton Airport Inn. Places to stay on the Nicoya Peninsula
If you’re arriving to the Nicoya Peninsula a day or so before the start of your trip we recommend you stay at:

Hotel Playa Tambor (a five star resort on the beach). If what you’re looking
for is all expense paid luxury without having to worry about knowing
Spanish to make reservations or get around then this is the accommodation

– Clean, quality and cultural. This is a locally run Hotel in the small
peninsula town of
Paquera. Stay in
this hotel if you can speak some Spanish, want a rich cultural experience,
and are willing to wait until the tour starts to have time on the water.
That is to say, there are only a few employees who can speak English and
this hotel is not on the water. The water is a 5 minute bus ride and 30
minute walk away. For those who this does not discourage we recommend this
hotel because it is always clean, the people are always nice, the
presentation is uncharacteristically finished, the price is right (a
double is 10-15$ US), the rooms have A/C, the best Costa Rican style
restaurant we have found is part of the hotel, and there is no better
place to get to know what makes up an authentic Costa Rican town. 011-506-641-0119.
