Departing during the early evening our Sunset tours are perfect for our guests who would like to experience the sunset in a natural setting. These spectacular tours begin by embracing the beautiful, calm early evening weather and end savoring the tranquility and romance of some of the most breath-taking sunsets you may ever see. We can provide complimentary transportation from Key West to our launch site and then back again to Key West when your tour comes to an end.

At our launch site we will familiarize you and provide you with the equipment necessary for kayaking and give you an informative kayak/safety lesson. Once we are all comfortable and ready to launch we will depart on the first leg of our 5-6 mile round trip paddle through tidal creeks, mangrove islets and across shallow grassy flats within the Great White Heron National Wildlife Refuge. With the magnificent seascapes of isolated keys in the distant Gulf of Mexico, you will feast on a visual display of red and purple hues as the sun meets the sea. While on the water your knowledgeable and friendly naturalist kayak guide will educate you about the surrounding region and wildlife while helping you further improve your kayaking skills.  Half way through the trip we will take a brief floating break and then begin our trip back watching the skies in the east grow navy blue as the first stars appear over the Atlantic Ocean.

Examples of some commonly seen flora and fauna: Great White Herons, Great Blue Herons, Snowy Egrets, White Ibis, Roseate Spoonbill, Brown Pelicans, Double Crested Cormorant, Magnificent Frigate Bird, Ospreys, Bald Eagles, Least Tern, Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin, Loggerhead Turtle, Southern Stingray, Silversides, Needlefish, Gray Snapper,  Great Barracuda, Blue Crab, Stone Crab, West Indies Spiny Lobster, Loggerhead Sponges, Thin Finger Coral, Lesser Starlet Coral, Bahama Sea Star, Red Heart Urchin, Red Mangrove, White Mangrove, Black Mangrove, Buttonwood Tree, Turtle Grass
