Wet_bald_eagle_in_Madrona_tree Wet bald eagle in Madrona tree John Kossik Edmonds United States

Bald Eagles are frequently seen here in the San Juan Islands. Sometimes hunting for salmon; other times scavenging on marine life along the coastlines. They are also commonly seen perched on trees, soaring high above on thermals, or drying off ( like the eagle shown here ) after attempting to catch too heavy of a fish to fly with and having to "swim it" back to shore. If you'd like to experience seeing wildlife like this from a kayak tour of the San Juans; please join us on one of our San Juan Islands sea kayaking tours
