Multi-Day Inn to Inn Kayaking Expeditions...

Does your ideal vacation include sea kayaking along rocky coastlines…among small remote islands in search of sea birds, seals, porpoise, river otters and orcas…at the end of the day retreating to the most luxurious inns and dining at the best restaurants in the San Juan Islands?  Crystal Seas has taken the work out and included the fun in your next vacation!   

These tours range from 2-6 days in length and virtually everything is inclusive. We provide all accommodations, meals, snacks and drinks, safety equipment, Kokatat paddling jackets, pants and rain hats, wetsuit booties, paddling gloves and our incredible attention to detail. So pretty much all you need to bring is yourself, some personal clothing, some personal items, a willingness to learn and a sense of adventure

We begin early in the morning on the first day by picking you up in Friday Harbor and then head out to our launch site. Here we will start by thoroughly familiarizing you with our equipment, giving you a detailed safety/kayak lesson.

Once we are all comfortable and ready to launch we will depart on our first leg of our several day adventure. As we paddle along the rich evergreen cloaked coastlines breathing the crisp clean air and observing the abundant wildlife we begin to realize how amazing our trip will be.

Examples of some commonly seen flora and fauna: Bald Eagles, Cormorants, Black Oystercatchers, Pigeon Guillemot, Pacific Harbor Seals, Orcas (Killer Whales), Dall's Porpoises, Great Blue Herons, Ochre Sea Stars, Pacific Madrones, Douglas-firs, forests of Bull Kelp and Eel Grass beds.

Accommodations: Our Inn to Inn kayak tours include staying on Lopez at the Inn at Swifts Bay, Rosario Resort on Orcas and Friday's and the Friday Harbor House on San Juan Island.  Each inn will cater to the most discerning guest.  Enjoy wonderful breakfasts made with fresh local fruit, sleep in comfortable beds and soak in hot tubs at the end of the day.  If your expectations are high then this tour will exceed them!

We provide you with drinks and all meals...

...starting with lunch on the first day and ending with lunch on your last day we provide all meals in between. You will be impressed by the daily gourmet breakfasts at your inn, the heartiness of our well prepared lunches and the restaurants that we have chosen for your nightly dinner. We can accommodate your dietary needs, just ask us.

... we strongly believe that an outstanding guide can make the difference between a good trip and a fabulous trip, therefore we place a lot of emphasis on having the best guides. We pride ourselves on our choice of guides. We choose guides who are safe, people persons, friendly, knowledgeable, have a great attitude, are excellent leaders, great teachers and who love what they do.

No previous sea kayaking experience is required...

...we begin each of our tours with a thorough safety/kayak lesson to familiarize you with your equipment so that you are adequately prepared for your adventure. This lesson includes paddling technique, sea kayaking safety, becoming familiar with our safety gear and other helpful and necessary preparations for our expedition.

Small personal groups…

… a great trip involves many factors. One of these is the group size. A smaller group is safer on and off the water, allows for more interactions between the guides and guests and gives our guests a chance to know each other. Furthermore, we can also adjust and modify the trip to the individual desires and interests of the group, allowing our guests to participate in various activities ranging from birding to advanced kayaking to photography. For all these reasons and more we keep our regularly scheduled Inn to Inn Kayak Expedition group size to 10 guests and 2 guides.

… one of our guides will make your trip with us great, but two will make it even better. We have at least two guides on all of our inn to inn kayak expeditions. This makes our trips safer, more intimate and allows our guides to offer our guests more, such as an evening paddle or hike, additional paddling skill development and more local folklore.
